FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing?
DTF printing involves printing your design onto a special film, applying adhesive powder, curing it, and then using a heat press to transfer it onto fabrics or other substrates. It offers vibrant full-colour results and works on a wide range of materials.
What materials can I apply DTF transfers to?
Our DTF transfers adhere well to most fabrics and surfaces, including cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, leather, denim, fleece, canvas, tote bags, and sportswear. The printed white under-base ensures your design stays bright even on dark or coloured materials.
We don’t recommend applying DTF transfers to silicone-coated fabrics, waterproofed or heavily waxed materials, very stretchy lycra/spandex, or rough textured surfaces such as carpets or thick pile fabrics. These materials can prevent proper bonding or cause cracking and peeling over time.
What file formats and artwork resolutions do you require?
We recommend submitting artwork at 300 dpi, in a PNG format with a transparent background (or as vector where applicable). For gang-sheet layouts, multiple designs can be placed across the sheet. We advise providing clean, high-quality files with transparent backgrounds to achieve the best results.
What sheet sizes do you work with?
We work with standard sheet sizes for DTF transfers (e.g., about 56 cm × 100 cm) and you can include several individual designs on the sheet. Smaller sizes (such as A4, A3) are possible but tend to be more expensive per design because of setup and ink usage.
What is your turnaround time?
We aim for fast turnaround. We can complete some orders in 24 hours (subject to artwork being ready, production queue, and courier availability). Larger run-orders or complex jobs may take slightly longer – please enquire at time of order.
How are orders shipped / delivered?
We ship nationwide in South Africa via reliable courier services. For local pickups (Johannesburg area) arrangements can be made. Once your way-bill/tracking number is provided you can track your parcel.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to make changes, please contact us immediately. Once production has begun (printing/curing) changes may not be possible or may incur additional cost. Cancellation may be limited – please refer to our terms and conditions.
What is your returns or refund policy?
Because DTF transfers are customised to your design and are produced specifically for you, we generally cannot accept returns unless there is a fault on our part (e.g., incorrectly produced transfer). If a defect is confirmed, we will work with you to rectify or re-produce the order
Do you help with design or setting up gang-sheets?
Yes — if you don’t have ready-to-print artwork or gang sheets designed, we offer assistance (for an additional fee). We recommend you discuss your requirements when placing your order.
Are there minimum order quantities?
We cater for both small runs (one-off or low quantities) and larger bulk orders/wholesale. Please contact us with your project details (sheet size, quantity, garment type) so we can provide a quote.
