HOW TO PREPARE PRINT FILES

PREPARING YOUR GANG SHEET

What Is a DTF Gang Sheet?

A gang sheet is a large film that includes multiple designs printed together – perfect for saving space, reducing waste, and cutting costs.

 – We charge per running meter, with a maximum width of 550mm and minimum length of 500mm.
– Upload your print-ready files to our online gang sheet builder or email us at  info@printdtf.co.za.
– Thinking of trying DTF gang sheets? Here’s what you need to know:

Designing Your Gang Sheet - Step by Step

Collect your artwork (logos, text, graphics) in high resolution (300 DPI).

In your design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, etc.), create a canvas the same size as your DTF film – typically 550mm wide by any length needed

Organize your designs efficiently, leaving a small gap between each for cutting. Rotate or resize as needed to maximize space.

Ensure your file is in RGB as required, remove any hidden or transparent layers, and confirm that white ink areas are handled correctly (we recommend 1% K instead of pure white).

Save your final layout as a PNG or TIFF file with a transparent background for best results.

Send your file off to the printer and wait for the gang sheet to come back! Once it’s ready, you can test it out by pressing the designs onto fabric using a heat press at around150-160°C for 10-15 seconds. Peel off the film, and boom – your designs are now on your garment!

– Overlapping designs – always leave a small margin.

– Wrong color mode – confirm RGB or CMYK.

– Ignoring size checks — verify all dimensions before sending your file.

Please review the following guidelines before submitting your fileS:

We cannot print copyrighted or trademarked material unless you own the rights. Please only submit original artwork.

– Do not flip or mirror your artwork.
– Accepted file types: PDF, PNG, TIF, JPG.
– Submit files at 300–900 DPI at final print size (we cannot resize your image).
– Use RGB color mode — CMYK files will be converted automatically.
– Remove any unwanted backgrounds; whatever remains will print.

– Always design at 300 DPI or higher for sharp, clean prints.
– Low-resolution or pixelated images will appear blurry when printed.

– We cannot guarantee color accuracy — please verify your color settings before submission.
– Save your design in RGB format and double-check Pantone references if applicable.
– Monitor displays and final prints may vary slightly in tone.

– Text smaller than 1 mm may not print or transfer clearly.
– For best results, add a stroke or slightly thicken fine details.

Avoid transparency, drop shadows, or gradients — these will not print as intended.

All orders are custom-printed, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges once printing begins.

– Turn garments inside out before washing.
– Use cold water and a gentle cycle.
– Do not tumble dry – air dry in shade to avoid fading.
– Do not bleach.
– Iron inside out if needed; avoid direct contact with the design.
